Couldn't load pickup availability
A handmade sterling silver signet ring in solid 925 silver. Cast using the lost wax process and finished by hand in our Adelaide studio.
The face is large and rectangular - 17mm wide by 10.5mm tall and 3mm thick - with clean, flat lines and a high polish finish. It's a substantial ring with a classic signet profile. The face is left plain.
This ring was designed with men in mind but works equally well for women who prefer a larger, more architectural style.
Engraving
The face of this ring is left plain, giving it a clean, architectural look. If you'd like an inscription engraved on the inside of the band - a name, date, initials or short message - contact us before placing your order to discuss your requirements and get a quote.
Signet rings are a popular gift for milestone birthdays, graduations and Father's Day.

Sizing
This is a wide band ring, which means you need your wide band ring size rather than your standard ring size. Wide band rings sit higher on the finger and can feel tighter than a narrow band in the same size. If you are unsure of your wide band size, your local jeweller can measure it for you free of charge.
Australian/UK sizes O to Z+1 are available. US sizes 7 to 13 are also welcome.
What is Lost Wax Casting?
Lost wax casting is one of the oldest metalworking techniques still in use. A wax model of the ring is created, then encased in plaster and heated until the wax melts away - leaving a precise cavity. Molten silver is then cast into that cavity and finished by hand. It produces crisp, detailed forms that are difficult to achieve through other methods.

Care
Sterling silver develops a natural patina over time. Buff gently with a soft polishing cloth to restore the original finish. Avoid prolonged exposure to chlorine, cleaning chemicals, perfume and hairspray.

What is Lost Wax Casting?
What is Lost Wax Casting?
LOST WAX CASTING
Lost wax casting is an ancient metalsmithing technique. It is used to create duplicates of pieces, including shapes that cannot easily be made using traditional fabrication techniques.
The jeweller creates a wax model of the piece (in this case ring) and sends it off to the casting business. A plaster mould of the wax model is made and then filled with molten metal (sterling silver, gold, bronze etc) and allowed to cool. The jeweller then files down this master and cleans it up before returning it to the casting business to have a permanent mould made. This mould can be used to have further wax model copies made and more metal pieces cast.
FROM REBECCA CORDINGLEY
I carved this ring out of wax and have had a mould made. When I receive your sterling silver ring back from the casting business, I will file it down where necessary, clean it up and polish it.
